佐々木監督は決勝の後、「若い選手に将来性を感じた」と言った。これまで代表では出場機会が少なかった、いずれも２３歳のＦＷ高瀬（ＩＮＡＣ神戸）とＭＦ中島（同）が全５試合中４試合に先発。高瀬は無得点に終わったものの、決勝では鋭い動き出しと献身的な守備を見せ、中島はヨルダン戦で２得点を挙げた。
グループリーグでは、登録選手２５人全員を起用。今回が代表初選出となった２２歳の吉良（浦和）や１８歳のＤＦ乗松（同）らがピッチに立った。吉良は「運動量など自分に足りないものを知り、プラスにしたいと思った」と振り返った。

■イエローカード
試合中に警告の対象となる行為（危険なファウルや不正行為）を行った際に、主審が選手に提示するカードのこと。１つの試合中に２枚のイエローカードが提示されると、今度はレッドカードが提示され退場処分となります。
■レッドカード
退場を告げる際に主審が提示するカードのこと。
■オフサイド
攻撃側のポジションに関する反則。オフサイドポジションにいる味方にパスを出す、またはオフサイドポジションにいる味方プレーヤーが相手を邪魔したり、ボールに関与する反則のこと。
オフサイドポジションとは？
1. 該当の選手が相手陣内にいる。
2. 1の選手がボールより前にいる。

■フリーキック

直接・間接フリーキックいずれの場合も、キックが行われるときボールは静止しており、キッカーは他の競技者がボールに触れるまで ボールに再び触れてはいけません。
■ペナルティーキック（ＰＫ（ピーケー））
ペナルティーエリア内で反則したチームの罰として、相手チームに与えるキックのこと。ゴールから11mの位置で、ゴールキーパー以外に妨害されることなく狙うことができます。
