無事故願い神事で海開き(牛窓)
牛窓（瀬戸内市牛窓町牛窓）、西脇（同市牛窓町鹿忍）の両海水浴場で１２日、海開きの神事があり、関係者が期間中のにぎわいと無事故を祈願した。
牛窓海水浴場では、市観光協会や売店組合、市、瀬戸内署から約２０人が出席。牛窓神社の権禰宜（ごんねぎ）・岡崎瑞枝さんが祝詞を奏上し、波打ち際に塩などをまいて清めた後、出席者が玉串をささげた。
市観光協会の石田一成会長は「今年は瀬戸内海国立公園指定８０周年でもあり、昔のようなにぎわいが牛窓に戻ることを期待したい」とあいさつ。武久顕也市長は「大勢に良い思い出をつくってもらえるよう、地域を挙げおもてなししよう」と呼び掛けた。
早速、海水浴に訪れた家族連れらは、浮輪で遊んだり、砂遊びを楽しんだりしていた。邑久小３年の男児（９）は「夏休みに入ったら何度も来たい」と話していた。
今季は両海水浴場とも８月２４日まで。市観光協会は、合計で昨年並みの約２万人の来場を見込んでいる。問い合わせは市観光協会（０８６９ ３４ ９５００）。
