化学実験に挑戦、ワクワクしよう「岡山高島屋（岡山市北区本町）」
夏休みは化学にチャレンジ—。子どもたちが実験を通じて化学の面白さに触れる「おもしろワクワク化学の世界
岡山化学展」が７～１２日、岡山高島屋（岡山市北区本町）で開かれる。
林原（同市）、倉敷化工（倉敷市）などの化学関連メーカーや地元大学でつくる日本化学会中国四国支部（東広島市）が毎年開いており、岡山県では８年ぶり。
会場では実験テーマ別に１９ブースを設置。砂糖と重曹を使ってカルメラ焼きを作り、二酸化炭素の力でカルメラが膨らむ様子を観察するほか、重曹やクエン酸を使用して泡が出る入浴剤を作る▽水素と酸素を混ぜた気体のシャボン玉を手のひらで小爆発させる—といった実験を予定。大学教授が質問に答えるコーナーも設ける。入場無料。
実行委員長を務める岡山大大学院自然科学研究科の岸本昭教授は「化学の面白さは体験から得られる。物質を見て、触って、におうことで化学の不思議さを感じてもらいたい」と話している。
