　◆２区

　◇民主、連合が集中支援へ

　２区は、自民と民主の前職に、共産新人が絡む構図。予想される顔ぶれは２０１２年の前回選挙と同じだ。前回初当選し、「２年間の実績をアピールする」と勢いづく自民前職と、「小選挙区での勝利を」と意気込む民主前職、「安倍政権を止める」と訴える共産新人が挑む。

　盤石と言われた平沼氏の後援会組織は、支持者の高齢化を懸念。後援会幹部は「『次世代』という名前と、その政策を浸透させることが大事」と気を引き締める。

　過去３回、比例中国ブロックで復活当選した自民の阿部俊子氏（５５）は「相手は関係なく、私の政策を訴える」と強調し、雇用の創出を成長戦略に掲げる。第２次安倍改造内閣で副農相を務め、「小規模事業者対策を進め、新規事業を興す。第一線の農業者・林業者・漁業者の所得を倍増させたい」。

　一方、阿部氏の元秘書の小倉博俊氏が今年８月、新庄村長に返り咲いたが、小倉氏は「（首長の）立場上、表だって支援することは難しい」。自民が追い風を受けた前回選でも、阿部氏の得票は前々回（０９年）と比べ１３６０票の上積みにとどまっており、支援体制に課題がありそうだ。

　前回選では民主党公認候補が２万９０９５票を獲得。この票の動向について、平沼、阿部両陣営ともに「棄権して投票率が下がるのでは」と推測している。ただ、浮動票が多いとされる備前、赤磐両市などの東備地域の状況などによって、情勢が変わる可能性もある。前回選で、平沼、阿部両氏を推薦したＪＡ系の政治団体「県農政連盟」は「公示までに推薦の結論を出す」としている。

　前回も立候補した共産の古松国昭氏（６９）は、県北地域を中心に巡回。原発再稼働やＴＰＰ（環太平洋パートナーシップ協定）の反対、消費増税の中止などを主張。「安倍政権は国民の願いに逆行している。正義の転換を」と訴え、支持拡大を図る。

　作られたのは北区表町３、今の千日前商店街付近にあった電機修理工場だ。１９０４（明治３７）年のことだった。製作したのは、工場を営み、発明家でもあった岡山市出身の山羽虎夫（１８７４～１９５７）。自動車の博物館として知られるトヨタ博物館（愛知県）によると、幅１３６センチ、長さ４４５センチで車体はケヤキ製。ガソリンのバーナーを熱源とする２気筒の蒸気エンジン（２５馬力）を搭載し、チェーンで動力を後輪に伝えた。後部の左右対面式ベンチに１０人、運転席に２人が乗車できるようにしていたが、屋根はなかった。
