２０１５年度に「子ども・子育て支援新制度」が始まるのを前に、岡山市は１１日、１５年度から５年間の市内の保育サービス需給見通しを示した。初年度は１万６４０３人の利用希望に対し、受け入れ枠は１万４４４３人分にとどまり、１９６０人分の受け皿が不足する。市は保育園の新増設などで最終年度の１９年度には不足を解消するとしている。
需給見通しは市子ども・子育て支援事業計画の素案に盛り込んでおり、市岡山っ子育成局が市議会保健福祉委員会で公表した。見通しは保護者を対象にしたアンケートと人口推計を基に算出した。受け入れ枠は保育園、認定こども園、少人数単位で子どもを預かる地域型保育施設の定員見込みを集計した。
保育が必要な児童に対する受け皿の不足は１５年度が最も多く、１６年度１２６９人分、１７年度８０９人分、１８年度４２８人分と徐々に減少。１９年度には供給が需要を上回り、不足分はゼロになると見込んでいる。
不足分の解消策として、市は私立保育園の新増設の公募、定員割れしている市立幼稚園の幼保連携型認定こども園への移行などを進める方針。市こども企画総務課は「限られた予算を考えると市立施設の新設は難しいが、民間事業者の力を借りたり既存施設を活用したりすることで希望者全員が保育園に入れる環境を整えたい」とする。
