２月定例岡山市議会は２５日、代表質問を続行。林潤（共産党）、宮武博（自民党・無所属の会）の両氏が市政全般を取り上げた。大森雅夫市長は、昨年１２月にイオンモール岡山（北区下石井）が開業して以降の市中心部の歩行者回遊状況について「イオンからの人の流れはまだ強いとはいえない」との認識を示した。代表質問はこの日で終わり、２６日から個人質問に入る。
　宮武氏が同モール開業後の市中心部の現状をただした。市長は、市が１月に市中心部で行った交通量調査の速報値を基に「県庁通りの平和橋では開業前と比べ、平日は１・８倍、休日は２・４倍に増えた一方、岡山中央郵便局（同中山下）前の交差点では歩行者数が変化していない」と説明した。
　同モールの来店客が開業２カ月で３９０万人に達したことに触れ「市外、県外から多くの人が来ていることは市民にとっても大きなプラスだが、回遊性を伴うものになっているとはいえない。今後、中心市街地の活性化に弾みをつける施策を実施していきたい」とも述べた。
　市事業政策課によると、調査は同モール開業後の歩行者や自動車の動向を調べるため、１月２５、２９日に実施。歩行者は９カ所、自動車は７カ所で計測した。
