スポーツ核に中心市街地活性化を 岡山
スポーツを核にした地域づくりについて考えるシンポジウム「中心市街地活性化にスポーツを活（い）かす！」が９日、岡山大（岡山市北区）で開かれた。欧米の先進地では、集客力の高いスポーツチームや競技会を活用し、新たな産業が生まれており、岡山での在り方や体制づくりについて議論を交わした。
岡山県内の産学官民の有志でつくる「おかやまスポーツプロモーション研究会」（梶谷俊介会長）が主催。サッカーＪ２のファジアーノ岡山やバレーボールの岡山シーガルズなどスポーツ熱の高まりを地域活性化にどうつなげるかを研究する一環として初開催した。
「スポーツによる中心市街地活性化」をテーマに、スポーツ産業研究の第一人者、原田宗彦・早大教授、大森雅夫岡山市長らがパネルディスカッション。人が集まり、交流する新しい形のスポーツ施設を地域づくりの核にすることなどが提案された。基調講演では、原田教授が「スポーツには地域を動かす力が備わってきた」と強調し、イベントや大会誘致などをコーディネートする組織「スポーツコミッション」の重要性を指摘した。
