岡山市
■足守川（北区粟井）
国道４２９号大井トンネル北西の「ホタル恋（こ）い来い橋」一帯で６月上旬ごろまで楽しめそう。土・日曜を中心に屋台も並ぶ。市北区役所足守地域センター（０８６?２９５?１１１１）。
■日近川（北区下高田）

■五石川（三石）

倉敷市
■酒津公園周辺（酒津）

倉敷考古館周辺でゲンジボタルとヘイケボタルが見られる。見ごろは６月中旬まで。大原家旧別邸・新渓園では６日午後７時～８時半ごろ、「お誘い…ホタル観賞会」が開かれ、琴とフルートの演奏がある。同５時半からは浴衣の着付けも（要予約、有料）。イベントの問い合わせは倉敷観光コンベンションビューロー（０８６?４２１?０２２４）。
■真備美しい森（真備町市場）
６月上旬から駐車場周辺の水路を中心にゲンジボタルが舞う。中旬までが見ごろ。７日午後５時～９時、「ホタル＆七夕まつり」を開催。市内のダンスグループによるステージやスイカ割りの後、同８時からホタルを観賞する。真備美しい森（０８６?６９７?０６６０）。
■蛍遊の水辺・由加（児島由加）
約７００メートルの水路沿いで、ゲンジボタルを中心にヘイケボタル、ヒメボタルが飛び交う。ゲンジとヘイケは６月上旬がピークで、日没から午後９時ごろにかけて現れる。ヒメボタルの見ごろは同下旬以降で、時間帯も午後１１時ごろと遅め。７日午後５時～９時、ホタルまつりが開かれ、地元住民らによる山菜おこわ、うどん、焼き鳥などの夜店が並ぶ。市児島支所産業課（０８６?４７３?１１１５）。
高梁市
■福地川（落合町福地）
６月上旬から中旬までゲンジボタルの乱舞が見られそう。７日は福地小学校で「神楽の里でホタルまつり」（午後６時半～９時）があり、児童の合唱やホタルの生態を学ぶ講座、地元保存会による備中神楽上演がある。うどんや焼き鳥、焼きそば、おこわなど飲食販売も。小雨決行。市観光協会（０８６６(21)０４６１）。
新見市
■天王八幡神社一帯（哲多町蚊家）
金ボタル（ヒメボタル）の集団発生地として、神社境内とその周辺が県天然記念物に指定されている。観賞時期は７月上旬の午後８時～９時ごろ。市哲多支局は「フラッシュ撮影や殺虫剤の使用などホタルのストレスになる行為を控え、静かに見てほしい」とアドバイスしている。土日曜の撮影禁止。同支局（０８６７(96)２１１１）。
矢掛町
■宇内ホタル公園（宇内）
６月上旬から中旬にかけて、ゲンジボタルが舞う。３１日～６月８日を「宇内ホタル観賞期間」とし、午後６時～１０時、一帯を歩行者天国にして公園内のホタル養殖場を公開する。７日は同６時から、地元音楽グループの演奏や子ども神楽上演といったステージ、地元の特産品や軽食を扱う出店が並ぶ。８日も販売する。期間中は井原線小田駅から公園まで無料シャトルバス（１日２往復）を運行する。町総務企画課（０８６６(82)１０１０）。
津山市
■宮部川（宮部下、宮部上）
宮部川全域で５月下旬に飛び始め、６月中旬まで楽しめそう。１４日午後６時～９時ごろ「宮部上ホタルまつり」がトンボの里公園で開かれる。小学生がホタルの紙芝居、美作大沖縄県人会がエイサーを見せ、仙人太鼓の演奏、ポニーの乗馬体験などもある。焼きそばや空揚げの販売も。小雨決行。久米公民館（０８６８(57)２９３６）。
真庭市
■備中川（下呰部、上水田ほか）
北房地域を流れる備中川や支流で見られ、２３日ごろから舞いだした。６月は観賞月間で、呰部商店会が毎日午後８時～１１時ごろ、常夜灯約９０基を川沿い約２キロにともす。ピーク見込みの１２～１４日ごろ、夕暮れから呰部地区一帯にキャンドルを点灯。１４日は弁当、焼き鳥などの出店を設ける予定。市北房支局（０８６６(52)２１１１）。
北房文化センター（上水田）では１４日午後４時から「北房ホタルの発表会」。地元児童や有志がホタルの学習発表、ミュージカル、踊りなどを披露する。ご当地ヒーロー「コスモスレンジャー」のショーもある。入場無料。
２１日午後５時からは音楽イベント「ホタルロック」も開催。市内のグループを中心に、エネルギッシュなステージを展開する。入場無料。
■備中鐘乳穴（かなちあな）（上水田）
周辺は県内有数のヒメボタル生息地で、例年６月中旬から７月中旬に見頃となる。ピークに合わせ６月２８、２９日、７月５、６日の４日間、備中鐘乳穴は午後９時半まで夜間営業する予定（雨天中止）。北房鍾乳洞観光（０８６６(52)２９６２）。
美作市
■大谷川（湯郷）
湯郷温泉街の西を流れる大谷川で、６月中旬まで見られる。３１日午後６時～９時には「湯郷温泉ホタルまつり」がある。湯郷交番前の広場でステージイベントのほか、夜店が並ぶ。雨天中止。湯郷温泉観光案内所（０８６８(72)０３７４）。
■河会川（北）
河会地区を流れる河会川で、６月中旬まで観賞できる。「河会ホタル祭り」は７日午後６時～９時半、河会コミュニティーハウスふれあい広場で開かれる。児童によるホタルの研究発表、太鼓、踊りといったステージに、飲食物などの出店もある。雨天時は８日に順延。市英田総合支所業務管理課（０８６８(74)３１１１）。
鏡野町
■郷川（薪森原）
吉井川の支流・郷川流域の郷地区はゲンジボタル発生地として県天然記念物に指定されている。６月上旬から中旬に飛び交い、郷公民館周辺では午後８時半～９時半が見頃。付近にはホタルの保護・育成施設「ほたる館」もある。
美咲町
■大山川（江与味）
６月上旬から中旬にかけ、ゲンジボタルが見られる。１４日午後３時～９時、ほたる会館では「大山川ほたるまつり」。小学生以下を対象にしたヤマメのつかみ捕り、ビンゴゲームや、フラダンス、備中神楽の上演がある。焼き鳥、うどんの屋台も並ぶ。駐車場から会場まで約１キロ区間は、キャンドルで彩られる予定。小雨決行。町旭総合支所産業建設課（０８６７(27)３１１６）。
久米南町
■笛吹川（里方）
誕生寺そばを流れる笛吹川で６月上旬から下旬に、日没から午後１０時にかけてゲンジボタルが観賞できる。７日午後６時～９時半、歌碑公園で「ほたるまつり」を開く。住民グループがろうそくをともし、幻想的な雰囲気を演出。ヤマメの塩焼き、焼き鳥、フランクフルトなどの夜店も出る。小雨決行。
