高橋大輔さん、４月から米国留学 岡山
フィギュアスケート男子のバンクーバー冬季五輪銅メダリストで昨年現役を引退した高橋大輔さん（２９）＝倉敷市出身、翠松高出＝が、関大大学院を退学して４月から米国に留学することが２０日、分かった。最低１年間は現地の家庭にホームステイして語学学校に通い、ダンスも学ぶ予定という。
高橋さんは昨年１０月、岡山市内で開いた引退会見で、身の振り方について「フィギュアから引いた生活をしながら次の道を探す。今はコーチや指導者は考えていない。好きなことをやっていきたい」と話していた。
２００８年春に関大から同大大学院文学研究科に進学。大学側は退学後もスケートリンクの利用に協力する考え。関係者は「ソチ五輪後から留学を希望していた。２０代最後の年で、大きな挑戦は今しかないと思ったようだ」と話した。
